THINGS THAT SCARE AWAY YOUR INTERNET CUSTOMERS- 26th October 2015

Any big or small organization can make any number of mistakes. Mistakes regarding your customers or customer service cannot be taken carelessly. It can break or make your company’s reputation and brand value.

There are many mistakes that can cost you your customers. Take an action on these:

1.      First impression is the last impression: If your website takes time to load, if there is an unnecessary pop up ad or if a post on social media goes wrong, all these factors can

affect your impression and will make you lose your followers/customers. Instead, make them feel welcomed and create a lasting impression!

2.      Not paying attention to the customer’s queries: By not answering back and not responding to the queries seriously will take a toll on your company’s reputation. If a customer has raised a query, he is 50% into your product, do not make a mistake of ignoring the customer.

3.      When you don’t acknowledge your customers: Its always pleasing to say Thank You and Sorry! Appreciate and acknowledge whenever it’s necessary, It gives the customers a sense of importance and this will connect your brand to your customer.

4.      Not committing to what you say: If you have promised your customers something, make sure you stick to your commitments. If not then not only are you going to lose the customer but also their trust and loyalty. Once the trust breaks, it’s difficult to win back the customer. You don’t want that! If things don’t happen as you promised, be kind and apologize to everyone personally. This increases brand loyalty.

6.      Taking positive feedback only and ignoring negative feedback: Never ignore your negative feedback, apologize and take respective action instantly. Turning a negative feedback into a positive one later on will win customers!

7.      Not being approachable: If a customer needs you, make sure you are available. If not, suggest them where to contact you. Never make a customer look hard to reach you, this will make them lose interest and there are high chances of them switching to other means only because of this mistake.

8.      Trying to prove you’re right all the time: Never argue, even if you are right, Apologize and explain to them in a better way. If this happens often, always be humble and explain to your customers. Proving right all the time will affect the brand and you don’t want that.

Keep your eyes open to these mistakes; else your customers won’t come back.
It’s not always possible to pinpoint problems right away or to prevent them from happening at all. It takes skill with quick and active approach from you and your company to minimize the damage.

What is Google’s phantom update and how to deal with it!

Google has confirmed that it is live and it’s simply called the Quality Update, which turns out to be as distantly threatening as it sounds. The new update is paying attention to rooting out irrelevant “How to” websites.

On April 21, Google unleashed its update on the online world. However, most businesses and entrepreneurs were in the loop and had sufficient time to react and take appropriate measures.
You must realize that Google will be updating its algorithm on a regular basis to give out more quality content to Google searchers. This isn't really the first time Google has done this update! People were so anxious of this update that they began referring to as the “Phantom” update.

Here’s statistic graph on the sites that have been the most affected:

What Google expects from you as a content creator:
  1. Duplicate content and unnecessary irrelevant articles are a big No-No.
  2. Avoid creating  thin content.
  3. Give utmost importance to user experience. For example, too many ads on your site can create a negative visitor experience and have an undesired impact on your rankings.
  4. Your content should be extremely trustworthy. Visitors that land on your site should feel comfortable giving you their credit card information.
  5. Your articles should be free of spelling and errors.
  6. Are you determined to give your target users an in-depth look into the subject matter?

Among the biggest winners was information source : Quora. This is probable due to its high content quality standards – the site has very strict guidelines for user-supplied answers to questions.

If your low quality content has been affected, it's time for a new plan or strategy. Quality signals aren't anything new, but you can be rest assured that Google is only going to clamp down on low-grade content with greater force in times to come.

In the end, It’s all about quality –Don’t settle for anything less!

Grave mistakes Aspirants make on LinkedIn

Today, LinkedIn is the No. 1 social media platform for all the professionals with most recruiters all around the world go through the aspirant’s LinkedIn profile before recruiting them. Statistics show that almost 83% of all professionals are on LinkedIn. However, not all professionals seem to be using this platform rightly.

Here are 8 mistakes one tends to ignore often:

1.      Unethical Photo: One cannot have a very glamorous picture or an appropriate party picture as their dp. Group photos are a big NO-NO. It seems unprofessional and has high chances of being ignored by the recruiters.

2.      Degree as Experience: A very common mistake, your graduation, studies cannot be termed as “work experience”. Only job details fit in the category and degree comes under education.

3.      Zero recommendations and endorsements: It’s a tough task but having no recommendations will make it difficult for the recruiter to know you from a third party perspective. Endorsements always show your strengths from people’s perspective and thus, having them proves beneficial.

4.      Not following any companies/groups: Not joining any will leave you with no ideas and connections. Joining and following companies and groups keeps you updated with what’s going on in the industry you’re interested in, Active participation will lead to new networks. No point being on LinkedIn and not following groups/companies.

5.      Grammatical errors: Nothing can go worse than a silly grammatical error. One of the most stringent aspect recruiter’s checks for. You don’t want them to lose out on you because of your one silly mistake. Your profile and summary needs to be written in the same tense.

6.      Outdated profile:  Another noticeable mistake people make are having profiles with the heading “Working at“refers to the company they have worked at earlier. Make sure that you keep updating your profile, to what you are doing presently.

7.      Spamming connections: Do not spam and keep sending requests to random people you don’t really know anything about. Its alright to connect but spamming every time they refuse to accept is a big NO! Don’t look desperate on LinkedIn.

8.      Publishing irrelevant posts: If you are in interested in a particular field and you end up publishing posts about your favourite actors doesn’t make sense. Be careful about what you are publishing as a lot can be understood with your posts.

If you are making any of the above mistakes, it’s never too late to make amends! ;)
